The 6th edition of Central Music Awards will come off 26th December, 2017 at the Centre for National Culture in Cape Coast.
The award scheme organised by Candymania Entertainment is the biggest event in the Central Region aimed at recognising the contributions of hardworking and outstanding Musicians in the region.
Earlier in the year, nominations were opened for musicians to file for the various categories.
Later, a nominees’ jam was held at Agona Swedru to give musicians the platform to interact with their fans ahead of the main ceremony of December 26, 2017.
This year’s Awards will witness additional categories such as Gospel Artiste of the year, Hip Life song of the year, Hip hop song of the year, Dancehall and Reggae songs of the year.
According to Candyman Lucas Mensah, Chief Executive Officer of the awards, this year’s CMA promises t be an improvement up the previous ones.
“CMA started small and by God’s grace we have made great improvements. Being in our 6thyear, I am hopeful we will see a lot of positive chances. We’re still growing,” he told Citi Showbiz.

Founded in 2011, Central Music Awards (formerly Obama City Awards), has awarded artistes such as Teephlow, Okortor Perry, Kobby Symple, eShun, Renner, Kofi Kinaata, Ebo Taylor, Bessa Simons, among others.
